Buyers often blur three products into one quote: a **CRM**, a **sequencer** (or dialer), and a **contact lookup API**. They solve different jobs. Invenitor is only the third – a people search and lookup API, not a sales cloud. Profile URL in; email, phone, or links out **when we have them**.

Category lock: [What a Contact Lookup API Actually Does](https://invenitor.com/blog/what-is-a-contact-lookup-api). Hub HowTo: [LinkedIn or GitHub Profile URL → Contact Lookup API](https://invenitor.com/blog/linkedin-github-contact-lookup-api).

## Three layers, three jobs

| Layer | Job | Wrong expectation |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------ |
| Sequencer / dialer | Schedule outreach, calls, cadences | "It should find contacts for free forever" |
| Contact lookup API | Resolve profile URL → contact fields | "It should replace my CRM" |

Pick the layer that matches the pain. If your desk already lives in sheets and WhatsApp, you may need lookup – not another annual seat suite.

## When a lookup API is the right buy

- You already shortlist person LinkedIn or GitHub URLs.
- You want prepaid credits instead of per-seat tax – [Seat Subscriptions vs Pay-Per-Lookup Credits – A Cost Model](https://invenitor.com/blog/seat-subscriptions-vs-pay-per-lookup-credits-a-cost-model).
- You may wire REST or MCP later – </docs>, </mcp.md>.

## When a CRM is still required

If your clients demand pipeline reporting, compliance audit trails, or multi-stage offer workflows, keep the CRM. Enrichment should be an **optional module** inside it – not a reason to rip-and-replace.

## When a sequencer / dialer is a different product

Sequencers own send windows, templates, and dialer queues. Lookup should not pretend to be that product. WhatsApp-first India desks often message after a find – without buying a dialer SKU.

## Coverage honesty across layers

Coverage varies. We do not publish hit-rate percentages. Coverage means contacts **when we have them**.

## Commercial shape without the suite tax

Invenitor sells prepaid INR packs (\~₹2 per credit feel on Razorpay/UPI), the free signup credits to sample, then **30-day** packs. Live tiles: </pricing>. ## Decision checklist

1. Do you already have a system of record? Keep it; add lookup.
2. Do you need automated multi-touch sequences? Buy a sequencer separately.
3. Buy a contact lookup API.
4. Can you accept coverage without brochure % claims? Good – sample your shortlist.
