By Invenitor team. Updated 2026-11-01. ## What might you search for? - IIT Madras alumni working in climate startups - Product designers in Bengaluru who studied architecture first - Professors in India who publish on Dravidian linguistics ## What can you ask for as a student? Ask for advice, not a favour with a big cost. Fifteen minutes on how someone chose their path is an easy yes. Being a student is an honest reason to ask, and many people enjoy answering. ## How far do the free credits go? 25 free credits covers one search and five contacts. Pick five people carefully. Read what they have written or built, and write a note that shows it. See [how to find a mentor](https://invenitor.com/guides/find-a-mentor) and [how to find alumni](https://invenitor.com/guides/find-alumni). ## What should you avoid? Do not send the same note to everyone. Do not ask a stranger to review something long in your first message. And thank people even when the answer is no. ## Common questions Is there a student discount? Nothing is published. Write to [hello@invenitor.com](mailto:hello@invenitor.com) to ask. Do I need a college email? No. Any Google account works. Try one real search for free New accounts get 25 free credits, with no card. That covers one search and five contacts.
