People search for researchers: find collaborators and study participants
Researchers use Invenitor to find collaborators, interview subjects and practitioners by describing their field and role, and then ask them directly to take part.
By Invenitor team. Updated .
What might you search for?
- Clinical psychologists in Delhi who work with adolescents
- Civil engineers who have worked on metro projects in India
- Agronomists working on millet farming in Karnataka
How can a search help with participants?
Practitioners are harder to find than academics, since they rarely publish. A search by role and place gets you a list that a paper search would not.
What do you owe the people you contact?
Tell them who you are, who funds the work, how long it takes and what happens to their answers. If your institution has an ethics board, follow its rules for involving participants before you write to anyone.
How do you avoid a biased sample?
Whoever is easy to find is not the same as whoever is typical. Note how you chose people in your method. Run more than one search, using different wording, and look at who is missing.
Common questions
- Can I export my list?
- Yes. You can save people to a shortlist and export it as a CSV.
- Does Invenitor keep what I search?
- Your account keeps each search for 30 days so you can return to it. See the Privacy Policy for details.
