What is a gatekeeper in outreach?
A gatekeeper is a person who controls access to someone else, such as an executive assistant, a front desk or a shared inbox owner.

How should you treat a gatekeeper?
As a person with judgment. Say who you are and why you are asking, in one sentence. They decide what is worth passing on, and they often know exactly who handles your question.
What should you not do?
Do not pretend to know the person or invent a reason for the call. It is dishonest, and it closes the door the moment someone checks.
